Ride, Sally, Ride

Ditching Carla for Sally, Hammerson is getting into shape and building early form for the Ride for the Roses.

6:30 AM departure, up to Deer Creek. A steady, strong pace put us at the top in 1:11. After a short break, we rode down the back side and over to Pinedale Hills. By the time we got there, it was already hot. Upto the top of High Grade, where the wonderful people leave cold water, gatorade, powerbars and bananas. Just in time, too. I needed a break and a cold drink.

Back home by 10:00AM. Sweating like you wouldn't believe.

Anyway, Hammerson's SL (Sally) looks sweet and seems to ride nicely. Even the upto 13% grades of Pinedale Hills got ground down steadily. Needless to say, H will be set for October.

Roodlicht is too kind. We did ride a good pace, but he could have dropped me at will. He put me in a "spot of bother" on several occasions when the pitch was steep. However, we stayed together throughout the ride. It was great weather, great company and a great ride. Felt pretty good after as well.
