Bobby J Wins Paris-Nice Prologue

Originally uploaded by Hammerson.
Bobby Julich won the 4.8km prologue of Paris-Nice with an average speed of 47.1 kph (29.26 mph). Bobby J looks to have good form early in the season after finishing 3rd at the Tour of California. His season plans include supporting Ivan Basso at the Giro and Tour, but Bobby may have to repeat at Paris-Nice first. There are still many stages to go, and one Tom Boonen is lurking in 5th place after the prologue. The mountain stages near Nice (Bobby's European home) will decide the winner. Don't bet against the "hometown" boy.

This writer is expecting a big year for Americans. We may have lost LA, but there are many other riders in good form and hunting for victories. Floyd, Levi, Bobby J, Georgie, Tommy D, Saul Raisin and others all look good so far. Look out euros!
