Good day for Discovery at the Vuelta

Discovery youngster Janez Brajkovic finished 2nd on the stage 5 "beyond category" climb to Covatilla. Janez was outsprinted to the line by none other than last year's ProTour winner, Danilo Di Luca. Tommy D and Triki Beltran also placed in the top 11 on the stage, and the three Disco riders are all in the top 10 on GC. Disco also leads the team classification.

Tommy D is 22" down on Valverde and 29" down on Sastre. Brajkovic and Danielson are both better TT men than the Spanish favorites, but we will have to wait to see how they fair. There is another climbing stage on Friday, as well as Sunday.

Our man Brajkovic is only 22 years old and was the U23 TT world champ in 2004, when he beat the infamous Thomas Dekker of Holland in the event.
